Movistar also seeks protection against Renaut

The company requested the jurisdiction to protect the rights of users that for some reason were not registered

The company Telefonica Movistar appeal for a legal protection against the cancellation of non-registered lines at the National Register of Mobile Phone Users (Renaut).

Following the footsteps of Telcel, Movistar requested the jurisdiction to protect the rights of users that for some reason were not registered.

The company confirmed that so far they have not done any cancellation and is awaiting the resolution of the authority.

Yesterday, a judge granted Telcel the provisional suspension to don’t cancel the service to non-registered users in Renaut.

In a press release, Telcel stated that during last year, they have promoted the implementation of Renaut. Nevertheless, they said that the period established for the register has not been enough due to the existing basis of customers since the implementation of the register.

Last Saturday April 10 expired the period established by the Federal Telecommunications Commission (Cofetel) to register cell phones, and in theory, those who don’t comply with it would be suspended, but the telephone companies have not made it. (El Semanario Agencia, ESA)
