The earthquake that struck Baja California on Sunday has affected an estimated 25,000 people, the state’s governor said Tuesday. The governor, José Guadalupe Osuna Millán, said that the 7.2-magnitude quake caused the worst damage in the rural area south of the city of Mexicali, and that more than 5,000 families had reported that their homes were destroyed or damaged.
