Subway at Metro stations? 70 new stores for 2010

The fast-food company, specialist in vegetarian baguettes and salads, Subway, will open an approximate of 70 stores which will sum a total of 500 establishments.

Luis Arguelles Rivera, development manager of the brand explained that if the sales format functions correctly, they would place the very same design at Latin America.

“Nowadays, Subway has more than 430 stores in the country, healthy food have had a lot of acceptance, this year we will have 500 establishments in operation”, stated Arguelles.

With the purpose of maintaining the same expansion than last year, the company stated that this year they will take up again the growth in order to establish around 1000 stores for 2015.

Arguelles assured that the reason Subway continue inaugurating restaurants is because the prices of establishments are less than those of the competence.

“If we compared other fast-food sectors, their investments are really big, at least of 1 million dollars, we open a store with an investment of 100 and 130 thousand dollars”, explained the director.

On the other hand, he added that one of the goals of the company is the creation of points of sale near gas stations, which are strategic for the large number of consumers they have.

Besides, Arguelles mentioned that they will also place establishments inside subway stations, where some other fast-food companies are already selling. (El Semanario Agencia, ESA)
