Navarrete: Salinas is the public-relations chief of Peña

The senator from PRD stated that at the moment the agreement was seeking to protect the governor of the State of Mexico.

“We have noticed all the issues since last november, the agreement and the alliance between National Action Party (PAN) and Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) was already signed and had a specific purpose: to protect Enrique Peña Nieto”, expressed Carlos Navarrete, coordinator of Party of Democratic Revolution (PRD) in the Senate of the Republic.

In a radio interview, the senator from PRD stated that the agreement was seeking to protect the governor of the State of Mexico, because he is very nervous about his state position regarding the end of his administration.

The member of the party recalled that the influence of Peña Nieto is so big that personalities as Carlos Salinas de Gortari are his “public-relations chief”.

On the other hand, Navarrete assured that it is unacceptable that these agreements protect a person and much less accept the political pressure of these subjects, as the one done to Gómez Mont.

“It is terrible that individuals as Fernando Gómez Mont, Minister of the Interior, give these kinds of services”, assured Navarrete.

The Ministry of the Interior (Segob) does not have to get involved in issues belonging to other dependences; the Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) is the one in charge of fair elections. (El Semanario Agencia, ESA)
