Not only the Unites States consumes drugs like the Federal Government has led us to believe, the foe of drugs also exists in Mexico as revealed by the figures of the High Level Group among the executive and legislative powers.
Maria de Jesus Aguirre Maldonado, deputy of PRI and president of the group emphasized that currently, there are at least 700 thousand Mexican consuming cocaine within the country, and three million users of marihuana.
During the settlement of the work group which will be integrated by 14 legislators of every group in the parliament, Ms. Aguirre Maldonado considered that the lack of planning and national prevention policies had increased the problem as well as the transit from being a drug producing country to a drug distributor.
She said that it is necessary to elaborate an effective plan upon attention and prevention of addictions, which is the main objective of his group.
She added that addictions in Mexico should be considered the highest priority in order to reduce the consumption of drugs, which lead to corruption violence and debilitate the family structure. (El Semanario Agencia, ESA)
