FBI and DEA are joining evidence of killings in Juarez

The American dependences promised they will do everything to find the persons responsible for the killings of three persons linked to U.S. consulate

FBI and DEA will be participating in the investigation of the killing of three persons linked to U.S. consulate in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua last Saturday.

Andrea Simmons, spokeswoman at the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) at El Paso confirmed the participation of these dependences and she pointed out they will do everything to find the persons responsible of these murders.

The American officers are working in both sides of the border obtaining information and “leading” interviews, explained Simmons.

Last Saturday Lesley Ann Enriquez Cattón, who had a three-month pregnancy, and her husband Arthur Redelfs, as well as Jorge Alberto Salcido Ceniceros, spouse of other consulate official, were executed when they were coming back from a party celebrated in the house of other consulate employee.

The American government informed that is evaluating the security in its diplomatic consulate and stated they will help Mexico so as to determine if they need to adopt other measures.

Washington expressed they haven’t confirmed yet that the attack had the purpose of killing the diplomatic American personnel.

“Regarding the fact that this attack was directed against American employees, I think we are not prepared yet to come to that conclusion”, stated P.J. Crowley, spokesman at the State Department.

Therefore, José Reyes Ferriz, Juarez mayor, bring forward he will request President Felipe Calderón to extend the presence of Army in that border during the next eight months.

The mayor affirmed that the period for the departure of 8,000 soldiers in that frontier is valid until march 31. (El Semanario Agencia, ESA)
