According to the signals of the presidential mansion, the recent political tragicomedy leaded by the parties that are seeking to preserve or extend their power in 2010, also involves the leader of Executive power, who will have to pay a high price for this stage that could be explained as a definitive stagnation in his agenda.
The government of Calderón has the disposal of all elements to metaphorically close the screen and walk the rest of their lives in a battlefield before his disputes with PRI due to the alliances with other parties that were declared as the saboteurs of current government.
Regarding this situation, some officials and analysts warned that the President of the Republic is at the worst moment of his administration, and as a result of his strategy to face organized crime and overcome the economic crisis, he had decided to fight against PRI. However, the forecast will not be that favorable.
Thus, non-identified government employees and experts in politics explained that as a result of unleashed violence of unlawful agreements amongst several parties to disappear the power of PRI, President Felipe Calderón had decided to assume the role of electoral activist.
Some analysts mentioned that: “In signals, president has accomplished one of his purposes finish with PRI, and he is disposed to authorize, promote or favor a closeness of PAN with PRD, in order to defeat PRI. It would be very bad to defeat PRI and worst to become a reality because instead of protecting the last half of this government, he is devoted to prevent that PRI wins in 2012”, stated Federico Berrueto, director of the Cabinet of Strategic Communications.
“The strategy of creating alliances with PRD to weaken PRI is a signal of the terror that has the Executive to deliver the government to PRI”, affirmed José Antonio Crespo, professor at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE).
“It is absurd to think that the sole and exclusive purpose of the president to win the electoral process for this year so as to reposition himself, half the six-years period were are seeing these kinds of electoral issues that are based on the Reason and Feeling in Hume’s Action Theory that considers politics as a battlefield where they are seeking victory and are leading the country to the brink of ruin”, complemented José Fernández Sántillan from ITESM.
In that sense, after the recent scandal that discovered the shady deal between PAN and PRI in order to preserve the dominance of Enrique Peña Nieto in the State of Mexico, PRI that shows off being informed of this history is ready to roll up its sleeves, put the gloves on and enter the dispute so as to alter any agreement.
