Interviewed by several media, the directors of Television Company at Ajusco informed that Hi-TV service will not be suspended until there’s no definitive decision on the matter
TV Azteca highlighted that will continue commercializing his digital television product Hi-TV despite the Ministry of Communications and Transport has declared it as illegal.
Interviewed by several media, the directors of Television Company at Ajusco informed that Hi-TV service will not be suspended until there’s no definitive decision on the matter.
Mario San Román, general director of TV Azteca, said they continue offering this service to customers because so far they have commercialized 50,000 Hi-TV decoders through Elektra’s stores.
These statements were made after Juan Molinar Horcasitas, Minister of Communications and Transport; informed last Monday that the suspension of transmissions for Hi-TV service operated by TV Azteca and Televisora del Valle de Mexico was still valid.
“Hi-TV it has already some legal resolutions, a judge denied the suspension of services to Televisora del Valle de Mexico, and there are still pending the subjects of the fines and the sale of equipment”, stated the head of SCT in a press release.
Since last february 23, high-definition transmission channels are commercialized via Hi-TV; TV Azteca and Televisora del Valle were suspended on behalf of the federal organism for operating with any concessions and violating the federal law.
Besides, removing from the market the decoders that allow receiving Hi-TV signal, the SCT fined with 4.4 million pesos (mp) to each one of the companies. (El Semanario Agencia, ESA)
