More than 6,600 pounds of marijuana hidden in a tractor-trailer was seized this week at a military checkpoint on the 30-kilometer marker of the Reynosa-Monterrey highway, according to an announcement by Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office, known by its Spanish acronym, PGR.
Mexican soldiers encountered a tractor-trailer traveling from Nuevo Leon to Reynosa. Inside the trailer they found a makeshift roof covered with a tarp. Within the compartment, they found 300 bundles of marijuana.
The drugs and the driver were turned over to the PGR for further investigation and prosecution.
